In this guide
Prepare one clean master before posting to TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. A good export avoids repeated repairs, preserves readable text and makes it clear which file is approved.
Export a file the Taisly uploader accepts
These are the current web uploader checks, not the maximum limits of every social platform.
| Property | Taisly web upload | Practical starting point |
|---|---|---|
| Duration | 3-90 seconds | Only as long as the demonstration needs |
| File size | Up to 500 MB | Keep a clear master; compress a copy if needed |
| Resolution | At least 540 × 960 pixels | 1080 × 1920 for a vertical master |
| Aspect ratio | 9:16, with 10% tolerance | Export exactly 9:16 |
A horizontal file can fail even when its duration and size are valid. Reframe in your editor and export again. Do not stretch faces or add irrelevant footage to satisfy a requirement.
Make the first frame deliver the promise
Compare “Three useful fitness tips” with “Heels lifting in a squat? Check this first.” The second opening names a problem the viewer can recognise. Show the correction early rather than spending the opening on a logo animation.
Use burned-in subtitles when the explanation needs them. Watch once without sound: can the viewer still understand the demonstration and next step?
Check safe zones and compression
Open the Video Safe Zone Checker, load the export and compare the destination overlays. Move essential titles, faces and the call to action away from controls. The overlay is a preparation aid; inspect the final published video too.
Use the Social Video Compression Checker when a file is large. Preview the compressed export around movement, small text and dark areas before replacing your approved master.
Keep reusable rights and a clear file version
Use video and audio you can distribute to the chosen destinations. A track available inside one platform does not automatically grant permission to export it elsewhere. Keep the relevant permission or licence with the project.
Name the file squat-check-v03-approved.mp4. Keep the caption, destination accounts and approval note alongside it. Export a separate version if a destination needs a different crop or message.
Run a final handoff check
| Check | Ready means |
|---|---|
| Picture and sound | Full export reviewed on a phone, with and without audio |
| Text | Names, prices, dates and subtitles checked |
| Offer | The profile and landing page match the video's next step |
| Delivery | Correct export, caption and exact account names recorded |
The current Auto Post caption field allows 100 characters. Prepare a short caption; put the explanation in the video instead of assuming a long description will fit.
When the file passes, publish it to the selected accounts. Keep the original so a correction does not require downloading a published copy.
